'Today i choose happiness'

Motivation Monday quote for the week.

Yesterday was bank holiday, therefore i am posting today.

I am a true believer in positive thoughts creates positive outcomes. At the start of the week i like to think positive and personally motivate myself for that week.

I do this by reading quotes or planning what i need to do for that week. I am a planner so starting the week knowing what i need to do and having the mental fuel to do it, makes me feel empowered.

I know there is a general consensus that the world is not a fan of  Mondays. As an optimist instead of seeing Monday as the start of a long week, i view Monday as a new start to a week to do more or better then the week before.

Apps From My Phone To Yours

Let me start you of with a warning, i am a little, or i should really say more then a little app crazy.  Most people first reaction when they see my phone is shock. and then they wonder, do you really use all of them? The answer is YES.

IFTTT (If this then that)
Im sure at one time in life we wished we could be in two places at once; well IFTTT helps you do that.

This application allows you to put some of your online activity on autopilot. This isn't an app that does it all for your of course, it is more like a tool that ensures you don't miss anything.

IFTTT is like an online assistant.

Here are some examples of what i use the applications for.

If i star an email then add the subject of the email to my reminder. I use this so that i remember to reply or do whatever it is that is in that email.
If I take a picture then upload that image to my Google Drive.
If i post an image on my Instagram then make it my phone homepage background.

Digg

Digg is a social news website. The name comes from the idea that people 'digg' articles they agree with and 'bury' articles they don't agree with.

The users have an option of reading articles in the popular section with a lot of digs, or they can look at the articles in the upcoming section. The upcoming section are new articles that have not received enough digs to make it to the popular listing.

The reason why i like this app is because the articles we see on newspapers and magazines are controlled by the media. They decide what goes on the front page and so on. Dig allows society to control what we see. We get to decide what is news worthy.

Beep'nGo

This is an app i have recently downloaded.
Beep'nGo is very useful if you don't like carrying around all the cards you get from stores. You scan the cards you have, the application stores the information on your phone and you then use it on the go. It is all in the name.

These are the top three apps i would recommend to you that you may not know about. If i come across any others i shall put up a quick review.

I have also listed all the apps that i use.

Eat: Levant Restaurant - London

I whole heartedly recommend to you all Levant restaurant in London.

This Saturday evening i dined at a beautiful Lebanese restaurant called Levant. The place is a few minutes walk from Bond Street station, very easy to find.

Once you see the entrance of the restaurant you initially feel the atmosphere change. Inside the setting, pieces and colours are breath taking.

I was there for a friends birthday so we had a table for 10 booked, and a set menu which was a selection of either a vegetarian, chicken or meat dishes. I pre-ordered the chicken menu.

The food was delicious and each dish was better then the first.

If your a Londoner or if your planning to visit, book a table at Levant and let me know what you think.

If you don’t know TED?

Lets take a minute and get to know TED!

TED is very knowledgeable and well travelled. TED is both male and female. TED has no ethnicity, but has many experiences. TED favourite colour is red.

TED’s slogan is ‘ideas worth spreading,' does that sound familiar?

“TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to spreading ideas, usually in the form of short, powerful talks (18 minutes or less). TED began in 1984 as a conference where Technology, Entertainment and Design converged, and today covers almost all topics — from science to business to global issues — in more than 100 languages.”

TED is unique because of its divers speakers and subjects. The TED stage is a platform that allows people to share their ideas, experiences from both personal or research.

I first came across TED few years ago. I was so excited by the idea and shared it with all my friends and family. Some said I was so enthused that they got the impression that I invented TED. I wish!

I use to listen to the talks every chance I could; train, bus and walks to university or work, washing the dishes, or i would just squeeze in a video before bed.

What is very interesting is that no matter how long the video is, they all leave me wanting more.

Majority of the times I use to scroll through the categories and watch the videos under the subjects or topic I knew I would love. Sometimes I would randomly choose a topic and would be blown away.

Once you become closely acquainted with TED you will realize that once you press play, the pre-expectations or thoughts you had of what the talk might be about never did it justice. I always felt like I learnt something new and left inspired.

I have put together five TED talks from my very long list of favourites. I choose these five because they blew me away and also because they cover a range of different topics.

Enjoy!

Sheryl Sandberg: Why we have too few women leaders

Esther Perel: The secret to desire in a long-term relationship

Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie: The danger of a single story

Simon Sinek: Why good leaders make you feel safe

Leslie Morgan Steiner: Why domestic violence victims don't leave

I hope you enjoyed them as much as i did or more. Dont forget that ideas are mean to be shared, so share them with those you love.

TED reiterates the point that .. it all starts with an iDiya.
